3--The Creation of the World

(Much evidence exists for the literal
seven day creation week.)

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." --Genesis 1:1, 2

Note: We know the Bible starts out with the creation of the earth. Though many have been schooled in evolution theories, one may find truth in the Bible account of creation if they study it out carefully. Perhaps you have read or heard of books and tapes that explain this subject from the Bible point of view. If not, you need to explore this subject carefully and prayerfully.

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." --Exodus 20:8-11

Note: The fourth commandment, written on tables of stone with God’s finger, declares God as the Creator of everything.

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof." --Psalm 19:1-6

Note:How can anyone deny God as our Creator, when they look at the heavens above us? What we know today of atoms and molecules and the marvelous functions of our bodies and brains should convince us that only an intelligent Creator could be behind it? How could such design come from chance, as some believe?

"By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast." --Psalm 33:6-9

Note: Yes, the word of His mouth created it all. All three members of the Godhead had their part. It is beyond our imagination.

"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." --Hebrews 11:3

Note: It does take faith to begin to understand the wonder working power of God. And yet faith is built on evidence. It is not based on feeling. As we study nature and His creation we can see the principles that faith is based on. Love is the main thing. This is agape love– a completely unselfish love.

"Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty." (This is the first of Psalm 104. This Psalm has much to do with God’s creative powers.)

Note: This Psalm should be read carefully and prayerfully. It is a long Psalm which tells much about our Creator and what He has made. He certainly deserves our praise and love.

CONCLUSION:

God created intelligent beings to love Him. We can enjoy a close companionship with our Creator for eternity, if we will learn to know Him right now.
